[[left margin in red]] Dr. Taylor [[/left margin in red]]
I will tell [[red underline]] Taylor [[/red underline]] that he must obey and cooperate in our reduced program and budget at Bloomfield etc. Rossi wants to dismiss him [[strikethrough]] de [[/strikethrough]] get rid of him, so Weith and pay him in full until July 1 - 1934 and engage a $2000 man to replace him. But I succeeded in convincing him that this would cost us more than to give Taylor a chance to find another place and in the mean time continue his testing work with [[red underline]] Zinsow. [[/red underline]]
Finally got them to consent so I shall see [[red underline]] Taylor [[/red underline]] tomorrow. [[strikethrough]] Brook stone just South of 66 Fifth Ave. [[/strikethrough]]
[[underline]] Oct. 6. [[/underline]] [[red underline]] Taylor [[/red underline]] here at office 9:30. AM told him [[overwritten]] we [[/overwritten]] I have arranged matters so as to grant him the request he asked me in his letter to continue to serve with a reduction of 10% on present salary until he finds new position and under no circumstances beyond July 1 - 1934. He was emphatic in expressing his [[red underline]] gratitude [[/red underline]] and his eagerness to cooperate with Weith in carrying out the program. I immediately wrote a letter to Weith giving instructions and of which I sent copy to Zinsow & Taylor so that there should be no misunderstanding However before mailing the letter I submitted it to Weith for his suggestions or approval.
I feel very much relieved to have been able to straighten out this situation where if I had followed the desires of the others I would have thrown [[red underline]] Dr. Taylor [[red underline]] in a very critical position all because Taylor had made himself disliked by his irritating attitude. I hope this will serves as [[red underline]] a lesson to Taylor as well. [[red underline]]
