[[underlined]] Oct 17. [[/underlined]] Engineering [[underlined in red]] Faculty meeting [[/underlined in red]] at 4:10 P.M. Dr. N. M. Butler presiding. Rain like yesterday

[[underlined]] Oct 19 [[/underlined]] Ditto. - Went to visit [[underlined in red]] Frank Bradford's [[/underlined in red]] Studio at request of [[underlined in red]] Elon Hooker. [[/underlined in red]] He is preparing sketch for history of Chemistry for Hooker office in New York. Sketch seems well prepared. 
[[underlined]] Oct 20. [[/underlined]] Stayed for supper at the Un. Club. More rain!
[[underlined]] Oct 21 [[/underlined]] All day at office.

[[underlined in red]] Weith [[/underlined in red]] came back from a visit from [[underlined in red]] Redman [[/underlined in red]] in Canada. Tells me he feels better but [[underlined in red]] tires easily and refuses to have his tonsils removed [[/underlined in red]]. He also has had another [[underlined in red]] convulsion [[/underlined in red]] 
Leon [[underlined in red]] Gilbert Simon who insured Redman's [[/underlined in red]] life tell me that Redman has dropped lately his [[underlined in red]] insurance, [[/underlined in red]] notwithstanding Simons insistance he should not do so specially as his present condition would make it impossible to pass physicians examination. With his various debts - he [[underlined in red]] owes [[/underlined in red]] Bakelite Corporation about [[underlined in red]] $85000 [[/underlined in red]] and apparently has other debts, if he dies his family will be in very awkward condition as he placed his money mostly in Real Estate ventures. - Bright weather again and
[[underlined]] Oct 22. [[/underlined]] Ditto. At home writing and studying. Nina and all her children here for dinner. This is the [[underlined in red]] 10th Birthday of Ninette [[/underlined in red]] so the cook has a birthday cake with 10 candles. They are all in good health and lively. [[/underlined in red]] Little Celine is the stedy one and intellectually much advanced above all of them. [[/underlined in red]] Reads

and writes well and is much advanced at school. Yesterday we went over old time photographs and portraits of the family. 
[[underlined in red]] Ninette [[/underlined in red]] has become much [[underlined in red]] steadier [[/underlined in red]] but is still full of mischief. She is quicker and wittier than any but [[underlined in red]] lags in her school [[/underlined in red]] altho' lately she has begun to take more interest in her work. [[underlined in red]] Bake Roll [[/underlined in red]] is in the same class as Ninette but [[underlined in red]] incomprably slower and rather dull. [[/underlined in red]] Even his little brother [[underlined in red]] Peter is quicker [[/underlined]] and wide awake. Peter is active, cheerful, enterprising, and much alive. A very animated little feast of happy children
