[[red underline]] Dorothy [[/red underline]] had driven all alone with her children from [[red underline]] Pittsburgh [[/red underline]] to Miami, and I used to think in 1906 that my motor trip thru Europe of 3300 miles was a long trip! at that time!
Afterwards came [[red underline]] Mershon and  Dr. Stillwell [[/red underline]] for a glass of beer and a talk about scientific and technical problems and reminiscences. 
[[underline]] March 27. [[/underline]] Bakelite Gesellschaft cable my arrival middle June very welcome.

Went to buy [[red underline]] malt extract, [[/red underline]] also "Grape concentrate" = Weighed 10 lbs in a can (about 1 gall.) looks like molasses with some grape skins in it. Dissolved it in water adding 6 gallons water to it. [[strikethrough]] Started out [[/strikethrough]] Added about 30 cc. of fermenting grape fruit juice, which made it show 15% at Sacharometer. I weighed out enough "grape-sugar" (11 lbs) to be added [[underline]] gradually [[/underline]] in solid form as fast as fermentation proceeds, so as to increase accordingly the alcohol contents and then later transfer in a 5 gall glass bottle to let the after fermentation proceed. The additions were made ^[[each]] after several days interval 
The start was made from a liquid volume = 7 gals x 8 = 56 pints marking 15% [[strikethrough]] Cho [[/strikethrough]] Sacharometer. Intend to add gradually 11 lbs. Grape sugar and started fermentation by adding first 2½ lbs.

Pleasant interview but told him I belong to no church my lines of endeavor and money assistance are along channels where I can do more good, and that at present my [[red underline]] income has decreased [[/red underline]] so
