Wrote George that in present time we make a mistake for not [[red underline]] writing off many of our assets as obsolescence. [[/red underline]] - In this matter [[strikethrough]] of not [[/strikethrough]] we have nobody to fool [[strikethrough]] for our [[/strikethrough]] but ourselves and if I were master I would [[red underline]] write off [[/red underline]] or [[red underline]] even destroy all our obsolescent buildings. [[/red underline]] If I die they will place an absurdedly exaggerated value on Bakelite assets.

Yesterday evening I ate [[red underline]] shrimps, [[/red underline]] obtained from Miami but fished in Fernandina. Slight fever, strong headaches, feel very tired; feeling of broken bone

[[underline]] April 11. [[/underline]] Feel slightly better but lancing headaches and pains in my back stiffness in my legs. Writing is difficult on account of cramps and stiffness in my fingers. Difficulty of concentrating my attention on any subject

[[underline]] April 12 [[/underline]] As I feel no better went to Dr. [[red underline]] Jeffrey. [[/red underline]] Took one ounce of saturated solution of MgSO4 followed by a pint of water acidulated [[red underline]] by lime juice [[/red underline]] Followed by 4 hour doses of [[red underline]] salol [[/red underline]] as an intestinal disinfectant. Refrained from eating as I have no appetite except one egg beaten in milk and one grape fruit this morning and one at noon. - Headache pains persist also back pains. Temp 100-101°F

[[underline]] April 13 [[/underline]] Slightly better; still piercing headaches. Took plate of soup for supper. - Unable to do serious work. To bed at 7 P.M

[[underline]] April 15. [[/underline]] Feel better. Nevertheless no swimming and walking tires me much. Every step I make I feel pain in all my joints. Headache less
[[underline]] April 16 [[/underline]] (Sunday) Generous rain.  ^[[(1")]] Calvert, [[red underline]] my new neighbor, [[/red underline]] says he is ready now to start building but will postpone dredging and filling for later. 
[[underline]] April 17 [[/underline]] Celine went to Biltmore banquet of Pan American guests given by [[red underline]] Henry L. Doherty, [[/red underline]] says it was most impressive and well arranged. - I did not feel well enough to go there. 
[[underline]] April 18. [[/underline]] Wrote long letter to [[red underline]] Redman [[/red underline]] on advice of George B and Rossi to tell him he [[red underline]] should take life [[/red underline]] easy and [[red underline]] not interfere with [[/red underline]] work at Bloomfield, etc
