Went to see a Cinema picture but the subject was so revoltingly cruel and impossible that I left the place. 
It was an American film. and a dry atmosphere! Many cases reported of people collapsing by the heat etc. Took train to [[red underline]] Beaconsfield [[/red underline]] for luncheon at [[red underline]] Potters house. [[/red underline]] Neat comfortable cottage with about an acre around it, clean, simple and pleasant makes an excellent impression. Trains were crowded with excursionists for the Witsuntide Holiday.

Temperature today [[red underline]] 84°F; [[/red underline]] yesterday it was [[red underline]] 86-87°, [[/red underline]] Reported to be the [[red underline]] highest [[/red underline]] since many years and the [[red underline]] hottest Witsuntide [[/red underline]] since a century! - Yet it felt very [[red underline]] comfortable and I wore a flannel [[/red underline]] undershirt! - Which shows it is all a question of habit and clothes! English wear very heavy clothes etc.
[[underline]] June 7 [[/underline]] Arrived [[red underline]] meeting of Bakelite [[/red underline]] Ltd at 2:30 P.M. This morning had a long [[red underline]] talk with Potter [[/red underline]] on the subject of [[red underline]] procedure of British and American patents [[/red underline]] which have to be filed in each others countries. The text of Rossi memorandum to this effect [[red underline]] meets [[/red underline]]
