[[left margin in red]] Molinari very able and liked [[/left margin in red]]
[[red underline]] presence [[/red underline]] of a [[strikethrough]] high [[/strikethrough]] [[red underline]] suitable solvent (C2H4Cl2)? [[/red underline]] [[strikethrough]] of higher boiling point [[red underline]] enables him to do this. Rossi [[/red underline]] and everybody who got acquainted with [[red underline]] Molinari [[/red underline]] speaks highly of him and my impression is that he deserves it. He looks very much like his brother Henri.
[[strikethrough]] Then visited [[/strikethrough]] [[red underline]] Low [[/red underline]] joined us here and with [[red underline]] Oak [[/red underline]] we then visited the different buildings. [[strikethrough]] and. [[/strikethrough]] I discussed the different machinery and methods with them, now and then having a talk and a questioning of old employes.
[[left margin in red]] Business increasing [[/left margin in red]]
[[red underline]] Everybody very busy since orders have increased, and everything is in working order. [[/red underline]] Some of the departments for instance the 3 stories digester stills with all their pipes and machinery gives one the impression of the engine room of an Ocean [[strikethrough]] sh [[/strikethrough]] steamer.
Yesterday the [[red underline]] top of one of the resin stills [[/red underline]] became obstructed [[red underline]] and blew off [[/red underline]] scattering liquid resin all around. Rapid changes to the outfit are being carried out soon to avoid repetition of this accident where fortunately none were hurt. We have had also several spontaneous [[red underline]] explosions [[/red underline]] in our resin-mills due to the combustible dust igniting itself either spontaneously or thru some [[red underline]] static sparks. [[/red underline]]
Fortunately nobody hurt. - We are to try introduction of an inert gas for instance CO2 so as to [[strikethrough]] cover [[/strikethrough]] prevent this and necessary outfit has been ordered.
Some of the disturbances are due to the fact that we have [[red underline]] had to engage supplementary workman, [[/red underline]] who had no experience in this class of work, no others being available. - I wonder how the new "Code", which limits working hours and compels additional men, will increase this problem if

it takes so much time to train new men.
[[left margin]] Luncheon - Bound Brook Molinari, Oaks and Low [[/left margin]]
At noon went to the near by [[red underline]] restaurant where I invited [[red underline]] Molinari Oaks & Low [[/red underline]] to a simple lunch and had a chance to have a little talk together. I had brought fresh [[red underline]] Hayden Mangoes and Avocados [[/red underline]] also three bottles of home wine which I distributed to them for taking home. Then resumed by [[red underline]] inspection [[/red underline]] of the [[strikethrough]] bul [[/strikethrough]] buildings but had to leave some of the inspection of store houses, garages [[strikethrough]] conta [[/strikethrough]] drum manufacture etc, for another time so as to [[strikethrough]] catch my train [[/strikethrough]] get to N.Y. before 7.P.M. where took supper at the U.C.
I was [[red underline]] very favorably impressed [[/red underline]] by all I saw at the factory.
[[left margin in red]] Great improvement since last year [[/left margin in red]]
My impression was very different from [[red underline]] last year when everything was unfinished [[/red underline]] and looked very dead and questionable. At present the plant looks as if it had been in operation for many years and everything has a tone of regularity and activity.
[[red underline]] Last year [[/red underline]] and more so, two years ago I [[red underline]] was opposed to Rossi's idea of having [[/red underline]] a [[strikethrough]] bal [[/strikethrough]] experimental [[red underline]] laboratories [[/red underline]] and test rooms at [[red underline]] the new factory and even more opposed to merging Bloomfield and Bound brook. [[/red underline]] I gradually conceded [[strikethrough]] the [[/strikethrough]] to have each department having a little lab. connected with it for testing raw materials, and experimenting with [[strikethrough]] new [[/strikethrough]] manufactured products etc. My consent in this matter was fully taken advantage of and it seemed as if there were here about as much men engaged in testing and experimenting as in Bloomfield; they seemed at least intensively active and interested in their work. - The same an be said of our [[red underline]] 5000 lb. daily capacity [[/red underline]]
