I [[red underline]] am furious that she should take such a step without first consulting [[/red underline]] me and to do all this at the [[red underline]] present period of my life [[/red underline]] when I need all my attention for [[red underline]] Ripper [[/red underline]] and business & research matters of Bakelite Corporation. [[red underline]] Nina has helped him in his conceit during his early years [[/red underline]] when he was with Bakelite, about one year after his marriage (See notes in my journal) where she kept on nagging me all the time about "dear George," and asking special favors for "dear George" over the other employees as if he were an exceptional being. It made me so disgusted and impatient at the time; that I rejected any suggestion for having George Baekeland join Bakelite. I thought "its bad enough with George Roll and his wife creating a problem in my business; what will it be when I have 4 members of my family claiming privileges?"
Nevertheless, I feel much upset against this idea of divorce. Married people who have children, incur thereby very serious obligations towards the children they have brought into the world, and must cultivate respect of their children and not follow the ways of lax feelings of duties of theatrical divorces or Hollywood people. - From what Celine tells me there seems to be no likelihood of reconciliation. [[red underline]] The man is a hopeless bore and nonentity. [[/red underline]] If it had not been so I would have engaged him
