Excellent luncheon, well served. Excellent egg-nog. First time since prohibition. Mr. Stout, our manager tells me over 1300 luncheons were served. A most enjoyable occasion.

Just when I was about to leave, [[red underlined]] Willem Hendrik van Loon [[/red underlined]] got up and made me acquainted with the friends at his table who had been invited as guest. Told him about my experience in [[red underlined]] Veere [[/red underlined]] last June, which made everyone laugh. [[red underlined]] van Loon [[/red underlined]] is going on a [[red underlined]] round the World Steamer [[/red underlined]] to give geographical talks to the passengers. He tells me the lady at [[strikethrough]] the [[/strikethrough]] Let "Schotsale House" in Veere is a [[red underlined]] Miss Ochs [[/red underlined]] a jewess from Amsterdam

Returned home at 4P.M and had a pleasant supper together with Celine - all help has vacation today
[[underlined]] Jan 2. [[/underlined]] Went to dentist at 8:30 AM for annual inspection. [[red underlined]] Dr. Fuller [[/red underlined]] tells me only a little filling will be necessary tomorrow, after cleaning. Then to office to discuss with George and Rossi about [[strikethrough]] our [[/strikethrough]] what agreement to offer to [[red underlined]] Ripper [[/red underlined]] also studied new will
[[underlined]] Jan 3 [[/underlined]] At 8:30 at [[red underlined]] dentist [[/red underlined]] cleaning my teeth and Xray. Visited Dr McKeen-Catell at his office to have an intimate talk about present conditions etc. All day at office.  - Evening supper at University Club.
[[underlined]] Jan 4.[[/underlined]] [[red underlined]] Finished my revised testament [[/red underlined]]. Have we the right
