At the Anchorage about 8 P.M. The light frost of 2 weeks ago. - ([[red underlined]] temperature [[/red underlined]] went down to [[red underlined]] 31°F in our patio [[/red underlined]] shows much on banana trees of which leaves are dead. But new leaves already forming. Damage is slight in our garden and plants are already recuperating. Older leaves of [[red underlined]] Coconut palms have [[/red underlined]] turned yellowish. Worst are the Spatodium trees of [[red underlined]] which all younger branches have been killed. [[/red underlined]] Bougainvillas, [[red underlined]] mangoes, avocado, orange and grape fruit, royal Palms, akees, Sapodillas, sapotes, papayas etc, show no effect [[/red underlined]] The [[red underlined]] chayotes [[/red underlined]] have shrivelled so have some tender plants near house. The [[red underlined]] crotons [[/red underlined]] show scant effect, but the [[red underlined]] Colis lost their leaves, [[/red underlined]] but new ones are already sprouting. The house and grounds are in excellent condition. My bathroom plumbing has

[[strikethrough]] all [[/strikethrough]] and kitchen all replated and put in excellent condition. [[red underlined]] Everything clean and in [[/red underlined]] prime condition. [[strikethrough]] A busy a [[/strikethrough]] Temperature 78°F and [[red underlined]] water in tank 74°F [[/red underlined]] so took excellent swim. Busy day then to bed. 
[[underlined]] Jan 4. [[/underlined]] Very busy putting things in order. Went to [[red underlined]] Wirth Munroe [[/red underlined]] to see [[red underlined]] ION [[/red underlined]] he is repairing.

His sister tells me [[red underlined]] Catlow's father died [[/red underlined]]
to day and Catlow will have to take a few days rest here after the funeral to recuperate from the preceding streneous day and lack of sleep. [[red underlined]] Old Mr. Catlow is a man who made an excellent impression on me [[/red underlined]] when I met him a few years ago. His surviving [[red underlined]] wife [[/red underlined]] also made an excellent impression.

[[strikethrough]] Afternoon went [[/strikethrough]] Afternoon went to visit [[red underlined]] Fairchild; [[/red underlined]] he has wonderfully [[red underlined]] recovered [[/red underlined]] and looks as well as ever, so does his wife and Nancy Bell who have returned from her trip to China. His [[strikethrough]] son [[/strikethrough]] [[red underlined]] Swiss son in law Muller [[/red underlined]] has a job as teacher of French at the University and he and his wife and nice little infant boy are now [[strikethrough]] leaving w [[/strikethrough]] living with them. So the whole family is reunited and seem happy at it.
[[red underlined]] Dr. Proctor the oculist [[/red underlined]] has rented one of their cottages and [[strikethrough]] is liv [[/strikethrough]] has just arrived from an abdominal operation
