I expected to feel tonight and tomorrow the affect of these exertions and to lie down and rest. But while I was washing arrived [[bold red underlined]] Mrs. Richmer [[/bold red underlined]] with 2 other ladies: One [[red underlined]] Miss Helen Lee Doherty [[/red underlined]], [[strikethrough]] the other [[/strikethrough]] (secretary to
[[red underlined]] Mrs. Ruth Bryan Owen our [[/red underlined]] minister to Denmark) and who is the adopted daughter of my friend [[red underlined]] Colonel Henry L. Doherty [[/red underlined]] of oil and gas fame.
The other was the wife of [[red underlined]] Professor Hunt of Harvard (Political economy) [[/red underlined]]
Mrs. Richmer also brought along her [[red underlined]] nephew [[/red underlined]] who lately became famous as the ^[[Harvey Alan)]] author of: [[underlined]] "Anthony Adverse". [[/underlined]] Pleasant gathering
under the [[red underlined]] Ficus Benjamina [[/red underlined]] tree

Served my [[red underlined]] orange juice home made champagne. [[/red underlined]] Pleasant & interesting chat. - I forgot about my fatigue.  In fact found none of the results of my exertions neither during the night nor following day. - This was quite a test for [[red underlined]] my 72 years. So I am still rather valid. Nina and Cornelia [[/red underlined]] not having motor cars have each hired a [[red underlined]] bicycle [[/red underlined]] in Coral Gables for [[red underlined]] $1.50 per month! [[/red underlined]] This gives them an inexpensive and healthy way for cycling round to their friends

Evening had joint supper with Nina and Celine. Cornelia at Judge Ritters. - Both seem very happy.
[[underlined]] Feb 21. [[/underlined]] Drove to Miami for having a new sail made for my little sloop

[[red underlined]] Washington Birthday and annual yacht festivities [[/red underlined]]
organized by Biscayne Bay Yacht Club. [[red underlined]] "ION" is in first class condition [[/red underlined]] freshly painted and varnished and since the strengthening crosswise wood pieces have been put in is in excellent condition and hull is tighter than ever.
Left with Celine alone. The [[red underlined]] daughters came with Arthur Curtis James boat [[/red underlined]].
Andrew the only one to help me, and runs the ION excellently. We left at 8:20. Cloudy weather calm water. Then clearing. Ran slowly but arrived at the Matheson Dock (Key Biscayne)
at [[red underlined]] 9:10 A.M [[/red underlined]] The first to be there [[red underlined]] as in two former years. Celine went exploring the Island [[/red underlined]] as usually. By and by other yachts arrived. -  Had many visitors and friends I had not seen since long. [[red underlined]] Served my wines as usually. [[/red underlined]] [[strikethrough]] Celine [[/strikethrough]] Also had visit of [[red underlined]] Miss Helen Lee Doherty [[/red underlined]] introducing her guest Mrs [[strikethrough]] Gaun  [[/strikethrough]] [[red underlined]] Gann [[/red underlined]] a rather fat
