elederly lady, who as [[underlined in red]]sister of former Vice-President Curtis[[/underlined in red]] got in society-rivalry with [[underlined in red]] Alice Roosevelt,[[/underlined in red]] daughter of former President Theodore R. I did not catch Mrs. Gann's name until I was told later after she had left.
Also had visit of [[underlined in red]] Dr. Joseph Spencer Kennard; [[/underlined in red]] the author ([[underlined in red]] See Who's Who[[/underlined in red]]); who bears his [[underlined in red]] 76 years [[/underlined in red]] admirably and seems younger than I am, notwithstanding his life in [[strikethrough]]tropica [[/strikethrough]] Africa and other tropical countries. He lives now in Coral Gables and spent about one hour in my cabin telling me about episodes in his life.
All in all, this was again a most enjoyable day, and our daughter seemed to enjoy it as much, meeting many acquaintances & friends 
Weather was perfect. 
Back in our harbor at 4:45.P.M. 
Perfect run engine running well at highest as well as at slowest speed. I shall write letter of thanks to Commodore Hugh Matheson for all these enjoyable courtesies maintaining the traditions set first by Commodore Munroe and then continued by [[underlined in red]] W.J. Matheson [[/underlined in red]] after the latter became proprietor of this charming Island

[[strikethrough]] Feb 25 [[/strikethrough]] I told him [[underlined in red]] nothing less than $1000. [[/underlined in red]] George thinks we are not really a chemical concern because we [[underlined]] sell [[/underlined]] nothing to chemists and our customers are mostly in electrical industry!
[[underlined in red]] Might as well say mfrs of synthetic dyes are no chemical mfrs because their main outlet as customers [[/underlined in red]] is dyers, weavers & skinners and textiles!
