[[underline]] April 25. [[/underline]] This afternoon I read my paper on the history, and present situation of Bakelite and synthetic plastics. [[red underline]] Celine [[/red underline]] was there in the balcony with [[red underline]] Celine Roll. [[/red underline]] - I got somewhat irritated at the clumsy way the men who had to put up an exhibit of Bakelite samples had attended to their work. [[/vertical note in left margin in red]] Redman another attack [[/vertical note in left margin]]  
[[underline]] April 26. [[/underline]] At office most of the day conferring with George, Rossi etc. - [[red underline]] Redman who has had another attack [[/red underline]] about 2 weeks ago is resting on his farm in Toronto, and thus has missed the meetings. Saw a demonstration of the [[red underline]] new 5 color film at the Eastman Kodak film, which is an immense improvement [[/red underline]] over the [[red underline]] present color films. [[/red underline]] Much simpler truer in color, does not require a screen nor stronger light than ordinary film. Bought 4 rolls of it. Gave one to George, shall give one to Nina and take the 2 others to Florida.

[[underline]] May 1 [[/underline]] The nice mild [[strikethrough]] weather [[/strikethrough]] spring weather of last week turns cold and furnace is again needed [[red underline]] Sanford Brown [[/red underline]] returned from his visiting trip and reports [[red underline]] things going better. [[/red underline]] Our [[red underline]] paint-resin business [[/red underline]] has about [[red underline]] doubled [[/red underline]] since last year. Halowax also progressing well Several conferences with Geo. Rossi and S. Brown. Wieth is away, on account of funeral of his father. [[underline]] May 2 [[/underline]] This evening was the [[red underline]] Spring Supper at the Century. Then afterwards talk by William [[red underline]] Gillette [[/red underline]] who know is 80 and gave some of his reminiscences of earlier days when I say him act in "Secret Service" and "Sherlock Holmes", famous actor, still bears erect, very slender, but his voice has acquired the cackling tone of old men. - high pitched and very different of the marvelous voice and enunciation of his younger days. - [[red underline]] So change we all!
