Easterly breeze blowing gently but [[red underline]] not a single mosquito [[/red underline]] in sight as to bite me, after the agony of the last 3 days. Moderate wind and bright sky and moon. 
[[underline]] July 11 [[/underline]] To [[strikethrough]] Mrs [[/strikethrough]] [[red underline]] Dr. Misner [[/red underline]] at 9:15. AM  Finished both dental bridges and put them on.

My bill is [[red underline]] 750.00$ [[/red underline]] which I paid by check. Decidedly higher than I expected so was Wielage's. [[red underline]] Last dressing by Dr. Gardner. [[/red underline]]
Then got ready for tomorrow's departure, and checked trunk this afternoon in advance [[underline]] July 12 [[/underline]] Left this morning 8:30 A.M by [[strikethrough]] Seaboard [[/strikethrough]] [[red underline]] Seaboard Line [[/red underline]] Very few passengers in only car to Jacksonville. - [[red underline]] Nicely air-conditioned. [[/red underline]] No dust, and nicely cool. Temperature in train 70°F outside 86°F. 
July 13. Restful night.

More cars have been attached at Jacksonville last night, but few passengers. One of the passengers Mrs. William B. Shober, introducing herself says lives in Coconut Grove since 1922 and her husband who is an invalid was formerly Professor of Chemistry at Lehigh University Says she knows Celine. Seems to be a cultured lady, but has trouble with her eyesight. At Washington several other cars attached. Arrived New York station 6:15 P.M. Standard Time

[[red underline]] In all this trip there was no dust in the car and my white linen suit [[/red underline]] with which I entered the train in Miami is [[red underline]] spotless [[/red underline]] Dick at the station with Celine's car. Stopped a few minutes at University Club where found [[red underline]] Bridges and Durant. [[/red underline]] It has been very unpleasantly hot in New York but temperature is milder since this morning. [[vertical note in left margin in red]] Snug Rock [[/vertical note in left margin]] Garden is in beautiful trim. Found things at [[red underline]] Snug Rock [[/red underline]] all in good shape, and Celine in good health and she reports same of the children. Nina & her children at camp. George and his at Scarsdale. Restful night. Pleasant weather not too warm nor humid. [[underline]] July 14 [[/underline]] (Sunday) Started unpacking [[red underline]] took out last night for first time my tooth - bridges [[strikethrough]] and [[/strikethrough]] before sleep. [[/red underline]] Succeeded in putting them on again after a few minutes trial. 
All day here, classifying my papers and putting things in shape. [[red underline]] First time had a square meal since I went to the dentists. [[/red underline]]

House and everything in perfect order [[underline]] July 15 [[/underline]] Went to office. Everybody busy as usually. [[red underline]] As warm as in Florida [[/red underline]] Luncheon at U.C. Returned home by 5:15 P.M. - While waiting for supper and while I was listening on Radio, Celine received a telephone message from Nina at our [[red underline]] Utowana camp, that a tragedy [[/red underline]] had occurred there this afternoon with the result that the little [[red underline]] boy of Mouse Middlebrook [[/red underline]]
