At office all day. Conference with Gordon Brown on subject of cast material. He says our impediments in competing here has been defective material and not to Zimmerman, who has the selling end in hand. 
[[underline]] Sept. 7 [[/underline]] Beautiful day. Drove to see [[red underline]] Brody [[/red underline]] and outfit of [[red underline]] Bakelite [[/red underline]] Bdg. Products Co. in Nepperhan. Several machines under construction. While weather is so nice told Dick to drive me [[red underline]] to the family burial plot in Sleepy Hollow cemetary [[/red underline]] which I purchased several years ago, [[red underline]] but have never seen. is a [[red underline]] strikingly beautiful landscape [[/red underline]] and well planned. Our little spot in a quiet corner near a little brook is very well selected. [[vertical note in left margin in red]] Burial Plot Sleepy Hollow [[/vertical note in left margin]] 
Celine selected it. Until now, we have had the good fortune that no one has been buried there. While the weather was so inviting drove further North along Broadway entered [[red underline]] Arthur Curtis James [[/red underline]] place, where he raises Turkeys then further along the Beautiful Hudson landscape until near [[strikethrough]] beyond bef [[/strikethrough]] Peekskill. On our return drove to Croton Point Park which has been very well arranged for its purposes. Then thru the J.D. Rockefeller Estate, and new Parkway Road, back to Snug Rock. 
[[vertical note in left margin in red]] Velox [[/vertical note in left margin]] After the visit to Brody's drove thru Nepera Park to take a look at the remaining unchanged parts and [[strikethrough]] station of R [[/strikethrough]] same R.R. Station of my [[red underline]] Velox days. [[/red underline]] A very pleasant morning and back at 12:30 P.M for lunch.

[[underline]] Sept 8. Sunday. [[/underline]] Bright & warmer spent all day examining old paper and old note books from my student days and other souvenirs of my younger years. Also photographs and letters. Some of my notebooks which had a glossy varnished cover, stuck so much together that I had to sacrifice the cover in taking them apart. Old memories. So many things have passed since then and [[red underline]] destiny [[/red underline]] has
