Afternoon went to visit Fairchilds. - Barbour has left and he telephoned to Fairchild from Phila. announcing my election to the National Academy of Sciences.
[[underlined]] May 7 [[\underlined]]  Wrote Boqert, Sherman, Gana Dunn, Jewett, Fink, Durand etc etc thanking them for support & congratulations
Evening went to cinema prdn [[underlined]] "Pasteur". [[\underlined]]  Excellent and a fine example what Cinema can do at its best, for a worthy subject.
Wrote George I had no objection against him mentioning to the convention

Visited the Fairchilds, Mr & Mrs. Erickson there back from Nassau
Mr Schutte came to visit me this afternoon
[[underlined]] May 9 [[\underlined]]  During these later days have never felt happier and healthier as now.  Putting things in shape prior to my departure.
Col. Mershon visited this afternoon
[[underlined]] May 10 Sunday. [[\underlined]]  A very busy day, writing and answering letters.  Felt supremely happy and glad to have the time to meditate alone about it.  Nice telegram from the whole family at camp.  Afternoon had visit of Mrs. Dear, her mother and a lady friend
