Found dear old baldheaded well fed and [[red underlined]] cheerful Smith [[\red underlined]] in his well equipped office. He is Mr. Smith who was formerly at Darley Dale and has become a valuable sales agent.  Is just back from South Africa.

The [[red underlined]] laminated department has taken considerable extension [[\red underlined]] and is kept busy to full capacity.  Larger plates are now produced also very thick (about [[strikethrough]] 9 [[/strikethrough]] 6" or over) fabric laminated being made for [[red underlined]] airplane propellers [[\red underlined]].  Notwithstanding this unusual thickness, product is said to be homogeneous.  This is a resurrection of the work of Westinghouse on propellers during the war.  The [[red underlined]] laminated sheets used for tables [[\red underlined]] and wall coating have excellent designs, imitating best Mahogany, Ash, Walnut and other woods.  Others have [[strikethrough]] mines [[/strikethrough]] imitation of pale blue sky with little clouds in it and suggest out of door views.  Automatic cutting of the sheets by means of special machines etc.

Returned with Potter in train to London. - Cheerful well kept landscape, cheerful houses small but well kept.
