Introduced me to his wife he married a few years ago. A rather heavy, rather stout and undistinguished looking woman. - [[red underlined]] When some years ago he wrote me a letter announcing me the news [[/red underlined]] that he was about to marry I thought that I was to meet a more impressive person. [[underlined]] June 26 [[/underlined]] Went to office for steamer tickets etc: then to luncheon at Savoy Hotel in honor of the British National Committee of organisation. Have cabled to New York that [[red underlined]] I leave on the Bremen [[/red underlined]] [[strikethrough]] and [[/strikethrough]] but first am going to participate at the [[red underlined]] Liverpool meeting of the Society of Chemical Industry. We have rain for the first time since I arrived in England. Luncheon well attended. Speeches as usually, no ladies. Afternoon went to Broadhurst, Clarkson & Co. opticians and

bought a second hand 8x30 German Binoculars and one French made 14 Monocular prismatic.

Also a Dr. Cadman who was very kind and who seems to have met me before.
Rain stopped afternoon.

Evening there was a [[red underline]] reception and ball [[/red underlined]] and visit of the enormous offices of [[red underlined]] Imperial Chemicals House [[/red underlined]] on the Thames. Very well attended, to ^ many ladies, buffet and drinks abundantly served, met again many old friends, introductions etc.

Went to office. [[red underlined]] Rossi [[/red underlined]] had cabled that [[red underlined]] O'Connor [[/red underlined]] of Formica Co is now in London and desires to see the new plant of Bakelite Ltd at Tilseley and recommends that Potter does so because [[strikethrough]] he [[/strikethrough]] [[red underlined]] O'Connor [[/red underlined]] did allow Robinson to visit his plant when the latter was visiting U.S. - Told to Potter can see no other way but to grant him visit. Perhaps this may be a way of dividing the delivery of laminated panels etc. for the coming bids in relation
