Rubens is on his way back to New York, [[red underline]] from Cuba, [[/red underline]] where he is the lawyer of the Cuban R.R. [[vertical note in left margin in red]] Horatio Rubens [[/vertical note in left margin in red]] He recently gave me a copy of his historical book where he describing the incidents of the Cuban Revolution of which he was the guiding spirit He is a well educated and well informed man. We had a very pleasant afternoon here talking over old times, old friend etc

Celine and [[end page]] [[start page]] \173 my guests [[red underline]] Judge Ritter [[/red underline]] & Mrs. [[red underline]] Ritter, [[/red underline]] Mrs. [[red underline]] Mahun, [[/red underline]] and Dr. [[red underline]] Fairchild [[/red underline]] together with [[red underline]] Celine [[/red underline]] leave at [[strikethrough]] 8 [[/strikethrough]] 10:30 A.M by the Club boat from the Clubhouse. [[red underline]] Mrs Fairchild [[/red underline]] remains at home because painful [[red underline]] headache [[/red underline]] [[vertical note in left margin in red]] Washington Birth day [[/vertical note in left margin]] I left very early 7:15 A.M from my harbour, with Andrew on the Ion, so as to get there before any other visitors at the Hacienda more so so as to study the new Diesel and make a log reading Wind N.E. which kept us rolling somewhat. Nevertheless we made about of knots. Arrived there first at [[red underline]] Matheson's harbor [[/red underline]] way ahead of the others about 10:30 came [[strikethrough]] Doherty [[/strikethrough]] Dougherty. with his "Triad" Then the crowded boat from the Club with my guests and Celine Met many friends and had many visitors on the ION examining [[red underline]] Bakelite varnish [[/red underline]] and [[red underline]] Bakelite articles. [[/red underline]] Dispersed my [[red underline]] foaming sweet orange wine [[/red underline]] from CO [[subscript]] 2 [[/subscript]] [[red underline]] siphons [[/red underline]] which had [[red underline]] much success. [[/red underline]] Harbor full of yachts, more than ever before. Better company also since [[red underline]]  $250 [[/red underline]] had [[red underline]] to be paid for every guest. [[/red underline]] More yachts than any year before. Excellent [[red underline]] fish chowder. [[/red underline]] My guests and myself took our luncheon [[red underline]] on deck of [[/red underline]] the Ion over which we had spread a piece of duck as protection [[vertical note in left margin]] Mr. [[red underline]] Jarthur Curtiss James for [[/red underline]] first time since his illness. was there in his boat.
