Dr. [[red underline]] Stauss. - Dr. Hodman, Frederic Swarts, Beroliet, Sir James Swinburne, Maurice Holland, Gérard, [[/red underline]] etc.
Backache almost entirely gone.

This morning [[red underline]] again bleeding [[/red underline]] 
[[underline]] April 30. [[/underline]] Timed ^[[my]] [[red underline]] bleeding [[/red underline]] this morning as follows:
7 minutes [[red underline]] squirting bleeding [[/red underline]]
After which it continued [[red underline]] dripping [[/red underline]] [[underline]] (one drop every 1½ seconds [[/underline]] then ceased entirely 7 minutes later. This makes about 280 drops in addition.

Got a charming letter from [[red underline]] Celine Roll, [[/red underline]] describing the pleasure she had in listening over the phone at her school on the ceremonies of the [[red underline]] Award of the Scroll of Citizenship and the address of Dr. Hixson [[/red underline]] and specially when he read my written introduction. The dear Girl writes:
"Your beautiful letter sounded so much like you and [[red underline]] Dr. Hixson [[/red underline]] said such wonderful things about you. It was a happy and proud feeling to go to sleep with the kind of proudness Bon-bon has taught us - to feel a pride

within ourselves, but not to make it public by careless words."
I have not yet heard from Hixson. Celine [[strikethrough]] tel [[/strikethrough]] writes that the ceremony "was brilliant" and that George was there.
This morning made short visit to Miami to see the Electrical Exposition.

Letter from Hixson arrived, promising a longer one. Sent him a letter of thanks [[strikethrough]] Als [[/strikethrough]] [[red underline]] Georges [[/red underline]] marriage & leaves on S.S. [[red underline]] Columbus. [[/red underline]] Stayed home all day, putting letters & papers in order.
[[underline]] May 2. Sunday [[/underline]] All day here writing letters and reading. No bleeding this morning nor yesterday. All day writing letters, among them to [[red underline]] Shotwell, Duggan, and Henry Goddard Leach, [[/red underline]] minister of the advisory board of the ^[[U.S]] Immigrant welfare [[strikethrough]] com [[/strikethrough]] Society who elected me worthy of The Scroll. I had already written to [[red underline]] Dr. John H. Finley. [[/red underline]] 
This afternoon had visit of Prof. [[blank space]] [[red underline]] Williamson [[/red underline]] of Talahasee head of the [[red underline]] Tung oil [[/red underline]] organisation. Then shortly after came Mr. Andrew [[strikethrough]] of Estero [[/strikethrough]] Editor of the American Eagle, at Estero, Fla. He brought me a very small plant of Mangosteen furnished by local gardener and for which I paid 5.00$. He brought it planted in a [[strikethrough]] small [[/strikethrough]] wooden little barrel, rather long; also 2 small coffee plants
