[[underlined]] May 16 Sunday. [[/underlined]] Afternoon went to Fairchild. There met Andrews and his assistant Neasalius who came to take some of my Akee plants. Also Mr. & Mrs. Hubbel there. Interesting botanical conversation

Telegraphed Miss Bidwell to [[strikethrough]] get [[/strikethrough]] reserve passage on S.S. Bremen leaving New York June 10.

Bought ticket a sleeper for New York = Cost $79.00

[[underlined]] May 19. [[/underlined]] Dry weather, so kept on packing my luggage for return to New York. Received letter from [[underlined in red]] Secretary of Edinburgh University asking for my length, size of hat etc. [[/underlined in red]] to furnish me suitable gown hood and academic cap for the coming ceremony. Also [[underlined in red]] inviting me to be guest of the University. [[/underlined in red]] Wrote him thanking him, as I had already engaged rooms at North British Station Hotel in Edinburgh for Mrs. B. and myself.
[[underlined]] May 20 [[/underlined]] This afternoon went to visit Mr. [[underlined in red]] R.W. Harrison [[/underlined in red]] in his new house 1235 Alhamba Circle Coral Gables. He and his wife were in stayed about one hour. Afterwards at 7 P.M went to the reunion of the [[underlined in red]] Bay Biscayne Yacht Club [[/underlined in red]] to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Club. - Was placed at speakers table and made my little speech, references as to the founder of the Club Commodore [[underlined in red]] Ralph Munroe [[/underlined in red]] were repeatedly made.
