steel. Stopped at Long Key where formerly were the buildings of the Long Key fishing club. Since my visit last year quite a bunch of Australian [[strikethrough]] pines [[/strikethrough]] pine trees have developed between what remained of the Coconut Palms. Drove further over Key-Vaccha etc. Excellent road, we did not go further and at 12:15 P.M returned homewards. Took about 1/2 hour rest for eating our lunch in the car. Visited the Key Largo fishing club, where nobody seemed to be, then returned over Homestead, then the Red [[strikethrough]] lan| [[/strikethrough]] Lands, oranges, avocados, mangos etc. everywhere. Many pretty farm houses, others abandoned. Roads excellent arrive at Anchorage 4:54 P.M [[strikethrough]] after [[/strikethrough]] including our stops, we have made 245 miles. A very interesting trip. But everywhere, plants seem to suffer of the long drought. [[strikethrough]] Restf [[/strikethrough]]

[[underlined]] April 17. [[/underlined]] Easter Sunday. Beautiful weather, stayed home all day. Celine went to Fairchilds for luncheon. I wrote a letter to Miss Paule V. d Stichele in Southampton, in answer to hers.
This evening about sunset, Celine and I were sitting on the bench near [[strikethrough]] the [[/strikethrough]] our harbor, contemplating the sea and boats. A strong trade wind was blowing, when a small sail-boat came sailing homeward towards "The Moorings" harbor. There were 4 persons in it the eldest a boy 16 years old, 2 young girls and a child. A gust of wind upset the overcrowded boat and they all were clinging to it. One swam out for help. I rushed to the house and set the alarm going, bringing out Andrew Murray who jumped in our station wagon, thence in our skiff, and rowed to the shivering and anxious children and rowed them to The Mooring's harbor. He found the eldest boy clinging to the wall of the Arthur Curtis James harbor all shivering and exhausted. Andrew with his quick action and careful management saved them from serious consequences. This shows the danger of people on a small boat who cannot swim
