At office. George and Rossi still away. Much cooler weather and beautiful. Wrote several belated letters. There is a gradual improvement in our sales. It looks more that if this continues, we may be able to close the year without loss.
[[underlined]] Sept 8. [[/underlined]] Cool but clear beautiful weather. Stayed at Yonkers after phoning to the office [[strikethrough]] Miss Bidwe[[/strikethrough]] if any important letters require my attention. Took occasion with Dick to put order in my wine-cellar and assort the home made wines I made since prohibition

[[underlined]] Sept 9. [[[/underlined]] Went to office. George is back from his vacation. 
Today is the burial of the Arch bishop and Fifth Ave and Madison streets are clogged [[strikethrough]] by I [[/strikethrough]] near the cathedral, by Irish, poles and Italians. [[strikethrough]] Visited [[/strikethrough]] Short visit to Grenade, Belgian attaché at his office
[[underlined]] Sept 10. [[/underlined]] Stayed at Snug Rock. Cool but beautiful Day 
[[underlined]] Sept 11 [[/underlined]] Sunday. All day reading and writing, and putting things in shape. A quiet bright day and nobody to disturb me.
