They are both unsuited by lack of experience and not knowing any latin languages

[[underlined]] December [[/underlined]] 23. = Went shopping in village. Also to the bank for cash. Remained at home all day. Evening = classing my note books till 9 P.M.
[[underlined]] December 24. [[/underlined]]  Visit of [[underlined]] Sylvester Roll [[/underlined]] from Venezuela; who is here for 2 weeks. Looks healthy and strong and has become increasingly important in the Pan American air-service.
^[[Sunday]] [[underlined]] Dec 25 (Christmas). [[/underlined]] Beautiful weather no visitors. Busy all day putting things in order.
[[underlined]] "Peace on Earth"! [[/underlined]] More war than ever. Arabs and Jews in Bethlehem are killing each other.  Strife in Germany, Italy, Spain, China etc. and the other countries preparing for war.  Am all alone, no visitors; so this is a day of Reflexion for me. Nobody to interrupt me.  Good music on Radio, while I am putting my daly notes in shape.
