Had the visit of a Mrs. J.C. McClure and her mother.  She is to give a lecture on Akees at Opa-Locka Fla.  Showed her some specimens

A long letter from [[underlined]] Dean Barker of Columbia Department [[/underlined]] of Engineering in which he tells wants my advice for reorganisation and that [[underlined]] both McKee and Dr. D.D. Jackson have reached end of their term [[/underlined]] and should be replaced by younger and better men.  Furthermore that Dr. McKee has introduced commercialism in his work at the expense of the reputation of Columbia.  [[underlined]] Wants to come here to discuss [[/underlined]] the subject.
I wrote a letter to [[underlined]] Hixson [[/underlined]] asking him what it all means.  Got a long letter from Hixson on the subject, who feels indignant  As ever before, jealousy and under rating each other by not being able to measure each others values.
