Feb 11  This night Frieda prepared excellent [[underlined]] Akees, [[/underlined]] which have been picked from our trees about 3 weeks ago. Quite some [[underlined]] Akees are still on [[/underlined]] the trees. Letter of Nina telling her boy doing well but still in collar.

Drove early to register for coming [[underlined]] Miami election. [[/underlined]] What a crowd! in the municipal building standing at 9 AM in six long double lines. But well behaved and patient.

Afternoon went to sign endorsement of new Committee members representing Tax Payers.

Afternoon had visit of [[underlined]] Mr. Taylor [[/underlined]] and Mrs. Taylor in their [[underlined]] Caravan [[/underlined]] with which they [[strikethrough]] towed [[/strikethrough]] toured [[underlined]] South African [[/underlined]] countries.

[[underlined]] Feb 19 [[/underlined]] (Sunday)  Beautiful restful day at home. Afternoon had visit of Mr. Cudington former owner of Yacht Grampus and his 2 daughters. Came by motor-boat

Celine tells me [[underlined]] Mrs. Brett has been frightened [[/underlined]] by a telephone call [[strikethrough]] last night, [[/strikethrough]] by a man who said he was of the [[underlined]] Klu-Klux [[/underlined]] Clan and said they wanted to protect her and other whites against negros, and that they expected a $100 contribution from her. - If not the K.K Clan would not be responsible to what happened.  Previously one of her negros who does house work
