von Hessert makes an excellent impression. Speaks excellent English and shows the result of a good education. Dickie rather disappoints me with her ultra-rouged lips and ditto rouged finger-nails. I hope her husband will wean her of this vulgar habit.
von Hessert came here with his Ford Phaeton motor car, with which he intends to tour over Europe during his honeymoon trip.  
Later on visit of George Baekeland and his wife

This morning went to the [[underlined]] "Medical Center" [[/underlined]] hospital to consult [[underlined]] Dr. E.P. Fowler Jr. [[/underlined]] about my case. He made a [[strikethrough]] prim [[/strikethrough]] preliminary examination of my ear and [[underlined]] reported it as requiring careful attention. Also prescribed squirting by means of a pulverizer [[/underlined]] a solution in [[underlined]] both ears. [[/underlined]] ?
