The New York Times this morning June 21, publishes an excellent article by Dr. Victor [[strikethrough]] H [[/strikethrough]] G. Heiser of the Rockefeller Institute, wherein he gives proof that diet has most to do with health and disease, and cites striking examples of how rats fed on diets similar to [[strikethrough]] the [[/strikethrough]] wrong diets [[strikethrough]] of [[/strikethrough]] in India, produce the same diseases which are prevalent in some of the poorer parts of India; while on the other hand, parts of India where better and more suitable foods are used, shows a very healthy population. He describes how experiments on rats produced either diseased or healthy rats in the same way as vast number of people in India show similar variation in health or disease.
[[underlined]] June 22. [[/underlined]] Another boresome day. Visited the roof of the building where a large number of the invalids are lying in their beds in the sun; their nurses taking care of them.
Dr. Fowler is not decided yet about my condition. - Wants to keep me longer under observation. Celine visited me this morning.

Well attended, he gave a lecture about Bakelite and its applications. Also showed boats and air-craft made from ply bond Bakelite.
This afternoon had the visit of Bush - now of the Columbia Medical Center board, with whom I worked when founding the Hooker Electrochemical Co of Niagara Falls and told our reminiscences of those earlier years of long long ago and so many of earlier friends who have joined the great Beyond. - Pleasant remembrances of 1905 & following years. On the flat roof of this building dominating the view of the City are gathered most of the richer patients. They are sent there on their folding beds with nurses attending and read or receive visitors or sun themselves, or reading. Seems like a grouping of suffering humanity of all ages. - [[strikethrough]] In those who have [[/strikethrough]] In every part of this Columbia medical center, these white clad nurses seem the happiest in their work.
[[underlined]] June 23. [[/underlined]] Feel well rested and generally comfortable. Fowler made an early visit and left for the day will visit me Sunday. Mean time Dr. [[blank space]] will take care of me. Says there is still a slight inflammation in my left ear
