Also old letters of my dear Mother. - so kind and so modest and devoted. - What a devoted dear Mother she was. He intends to be back on Sept 11.

Slight rain which ceased shortly after we went at Fair. Visited New York City building. Very interesting then various other exhibits

finally sat down for luncheon at Sweden Restaurant. - Cheerful service, clean surroundings and good food. Then Siam, etc. All very interesting but both feel very tired. Arrived back at Snug Rock for simple supper.

husband, who brought us some very pretty gifts and flowers. Long talks of past - present and future.
[[underlined]] August 9. [[/underlined]] Up early and to office. George presiding a meeting with our head men acquainting them with our intentions and discussing the situation. Had visit of Dr Jewett a graduate of Columbia who came to plead in favor of Dr. McKee and explain the unfair situation in which he finds himself. Took luncheon with Grenade at chemists Club. interesting conversation as usually. Celine took me to Yonkers in her car. - Very hot day but fortunately some breeze. So had to postpone meeting with Union Carbide attorney until afternoon. - Present besides myself, George Baekeland, Rossi Sanford Brown, Swan, Hays, Horn, Holmgren and O'Shea attorney for Carbide. George B. to night is leaving for England to explain and arrange matters to our British Friends.
