It may bring about that George withdraws, and then later starts another venture with which he is not so well acquainted and where he loses his money.

I hope I am wrong as to this possibility. - We had a striking case of such a possibility, in all the money lost in Pantone in which he had so much faith. - Similarly his faith in the present "building materials Co" which keeps on losing money. Received news from George now in London that he and his wife are still waiting for S.S. New Amsterdam to take them home.

Then I fear he may join a new venture which will bring him in new difficulties and loss of capital. I hope I am wrong. It was unfortunate that George in going to Europe for explaining our merger, should thus have given full opportunity for Rossi and the Browns to get intimate with the men of Union carbide to the detriment of George's representation. The reason I am thinking so is that the same tricks were used by Sanford Brown on former occasions. See my diary No. 50 & others. Also pages of my index to the diaries marked "Bakelite" with annotations. Sanford Brown being a bachelor can spend more time in meeting Union Carbide
