Transcription Notes:
**Note: writer who Baekeland referred to but did not name was most likely Robert Frost. I am not re-editing this again. I have left feedback for clarification. Should pages reflect what is actually written or not? If so, then the underlining should be transcribed as Baekeland wanted it. Yes he does a lot of underlining which sometimes seems frivolous, but that is how he wanted it. Also, March 9 is in the left margin, not in the straight-line text, and I have indicated it as such. Baekeland does a lot of underlining. It is not necessary to indicate the start and stop the underlined phrases every time he lifts his pencil only to continue with the underlining. It makes it difficult for the student or researcher to follow the text and adds no necessary information.
