[[underline]] March 27 [[/underline]] = Received a long telegram from [[red underline]] Watson Davis [[/red underline]] Director of "Science Service" in Washington asking my cooperation in furnishing suggestions and information, and suggestions as to his widened program for new branches of scientific research. [[strikethrough]] At [[/strikethrough]] All this covers two full size telegram sheets each. Calls [[strikethrough]] mj [[/strikethrough]] my collaboration as [[red underline]] "one of the nationally recognised modern pioneers." [[/red underline]]

Also a telegram signed by [[red underline]] Henry Butler Allen. [[/red underline]] Secretary and Director of the [[red underline]] Franklin institute [[/red underline]] and repeating a former letter by which he announced that the [[red underline]] Highest Medal of the Institute is to be awarded to me on May 15. [[/red underline]] This will compel me to leave here much sooner than usually. No rest!
[[red underline]] Mrs. Dean [[/red underline]] drove in this morning to take the 9 [[red underline]] coconut palms [[/red underline]] to replace those which have been killed in the late frost. Strong rain all day.

Mailed Tax returns for Florida Intangibles, boat & furniture. Sent letter special delivery to [[red underline]] George advising him to see Dr. Barrett of Union [[/red underline]] Carbide in relation to the gruff methods of [[red underline]] Davidson.
