[[/underline]] Dick has a day off to celebrate the yearly reunion of his fellow soldiers of the former war. - Meeting in Philadelphia Met Herbert Satterlee at University Club. He is the same handsome man altho' his hair and white beard. Altho' he married one of the daughters of J. Pierpont Morgan his modesty and sense of dudty have not altered. Took long walk. More bad news from Europe. - Enlistment of our future soldiers going on in preparation of our possible participation. My raisin wine which I bottled and closed with a rubber stopper after adding 2 lumps white sugar [[strikethrough]] and [[/strikethrough]] is Showing good fermentation by production of CO[[subscript]]2[[/subscript]]. altho' it is only a few weeks since I corked it. The bottles were the ordinary brown color bottles of about one pint capacity in which at present bottled beer is sent [[underline]] Oct. 18 [[/underline]] Went to New York, where at the Eastman Co, bought 2 small cable lines for [[strikethrough]] operation [[/strikethrough]] operating my 2 small Cameras, which I have used since many years. - Went to office to have a talk with George B on general subjects. - He seems to believe firmly that Willike will be elected. He gets steady information on this subject
