135/ I had a long talk with Mr. Longacre who is to accompany George on his trip. Later on after I had left the office a woman called at office and wanted me to prepare a broadcast [[strikethrough]] of [[/strikethrough]] over the U.S., as one of the immigrants who had distinguished himself in his career. - She arrived shortly after I left the office and phoned me to U.C. - Told her we should postpone this talk until later on when I am in Florida. - Same bad news from the War. The Germans continue to bomb and destroy in Britain and possessions. - while the Greeks are driving away the Italians who do not seem to show much resistance, notwithstanding Mussolini and his boasting Italians, who seem to behave as in their historic flight from Caporetto during the former war. Received a very interesting letter from Brooks. He and his father seem to be getting along well, and he follows now again the medical prescriptions which he had abandoned some time ago to the irritation of his father.
