[[underlined]] Monday Jan 6. [[/underlined]] Tried to get better acquainted with new car which is more complicated than my former car. Andrew knows very well its construction and how to operate it. -

This afternoon had the visit of Mrs. Deering who came to see Celine. Had a pleasant chat with here. She looked paled and very thinned face, but speaks and hears well.
To my great satisfaction received a telegram from Celine announcing that a letter from my sister in Brussels dated November 11 that she had received first payment from the money we sent to her by way of Guaranty Trust Co. of New York. _ I suppose that Celine's sisters also received their money. - I feel much relieved and hope further payments will be made to all of them.
[[underlined]] Jan 7 [[/underlined]] . Went out with new outboard motor. Works well and visited Munro, who came to examine the new Pram, so as to design I light mast and boom for it
Afternoon practised with new Ford Car, helped by Sand.. But the lettered instruction are of such a stupid fancy type, that it is difficult to understand them. Otherwise the car is excellent.
