[[underlined]] January 1941. [[/underlined]]= Wednesday 1. Arrived at Coconut Grove. - Meeting at Yacht Club at noon many men and women invited. Noisy crowd after too many drinks had been offered. - Retired myself as soon as I was able to finish handshaking etc 
[[underlined]] Jan. 2. [[/underlined]] had visit of Dr. Fairchild and his brother in law Exchanged my old Ford-car for a new model Ford. My old car was in such excellent condition that I was allowed a value of 
[[underlined]] 750 dollars. [[/underlined]] - This together with 250$ = 1000. Gave me an excellent new [[strikethrough]] car [[/strikethrough]] car delivered at my residence "The Anchorage" on Saturday
