Feb [[strikethrough]] 13 [[/strikethrough]] 17. Went out driving successfully in new model car. -
Saturday 18. - Drove car all morning, visit to Fairchild and Grosvenor.
Afternoon went to visit the much improved Parrot Jungle. [[underlined]] Celine [[/underlined]] who was expected to arrive here, telegraphed that she had a dislocation of her heel. - Next day sent better news, and will arrive by first train.
Jan. 20. Putting ION in shape. Went out with outboard on ION. Pain in my back this night and morning. 
February 17. Examined ION and went out with ION, [[strikethrough]] tryin [[/strikethrough]] with Diesel ^[[engine]] and trying an outboard motor [[strikethrough]]for [[/strikethrough]] on stern of ION, for a case when our Diesel would give out. - Everything went very well
[[underlined]] Feb.20. [[/underlined]] Got tickets for annual Yachting Celebration on Washington birthday.

I had purchased tickets for my guests at $2.50 each 
to Judge Ritter
   Mrs. Ritter
   Mr. and Mrs. Deane
   Mrs. Muller,
   Mrs. J. Connan,
Admirable weather and well attended feast. Everything at its best and excellent behavior.
I was astonished that the Coconut trees and other plants of the Matheson Island, had not suffered by the Frost of last year.
On the contrary they looked better and[[strikethrough]] b [[/strikethrough]] bigger than ever. 
Sat. 22. = Charlesͯ  ^[[darkee]] caused trouble by damaging the fender of another car, without giving his name.

Next morning the lady of the car that had been damaged drove to the "Anchorage" to complain adding that Charles instead of waiting for a policeman had driven away
This afternoon met her husband and I paid him 5 Dollars which was all he claimed. This settling the whole matter.
