[[underlined]] Vermilege, Treasurer of the National City Bank for the Advisory Council of the following men: L. H. Baekeland, Marston Bogert, Gaston F. DuBois, Lammot DuPont, [[strikethrough]] Huh [[/strikethrough]] Hugh A. Galt, Henry Howard, Robert C. Jeffcott, Charles H. McDowell, George W. Merck, [[/underlined]] August Merz, Adloph G. [[underlined]] Rosengarten, [[/underlined]] Salmon W. Wilder. - [[underlined]] Williams [[strikethrough]] Hy [[/strikethrough]] Haynes [[/underlined]] brought this group together to raise the large fund for a new book on the status of the chemical industry in the United States. - The [[underlined]] large sum of money he wants for this purpose seems to be [[/underlined]]

September 21. - We received a long typewritten letter from [[underlined]] Brooksee [[/underlined]] (Son of George) who is now using all his time and efforts, in training himself in the art of Flying. - He seems already well acquainted with the subject. - I hope that this new War-utelsil, does not cost his life. [[underlined]] All his trial flying is now done in Canada → [[double underlined]] Brooksie [[/double underlined]] is an unusual intelligent and well built young man. [[/underlined]]
