[[underlined]] September [[/underlined]] [[strikethrough]] 24 25 [[/strikethrough]] 24. Bright weather Went to Columbia the day for starting, the lectures by an address of Dr. Nicolas Murray Butler. As active as ever, and very expressive.
In the morning went to the Bakelite office. to pay for the projection [[strikethrough]] at [[/strikethrough]] screen for projecting the excellent color pictures Dick has made from his camera. Remarkable [[left margin vertical]] Wonderful!! [[/left margin vertical]]
excellent reproduction in colors of Celine and myself posing at Snug 
Rock. No painting could do as well. The exhibit was made in the cellar room, where during prohibition laws I kept my wine.
Took luncheon at the Columbia Club, in company with Prof. Hixson and Prof. who 2 years ago got the famous "Nobel Prize"

I took this opportunity for renewing my card of Columbia Alumnus.
Celine who is now back from her camp, gives again life to Snug Rock.
All this reminds me that we arrived in New York in 1898 during our "honey moon" after our marriage in Ghent. - 
[[underlined]] Sept 25. [[/underlined]] At Snug Rock all day Beautiful bright weather Fight in Russia going on. Both sides claiming progress. while killing thousands. Continuous horror a shame to humanity.
[[underlined]] Sept. 29. [[/underlined]] Went to Columbia to meet Prof. Hixon and Prof. W. D. Turner.
Cold dry weather. It has not rained since many days. - In fact it is stated that this is the longest rainless period on record
