Dr. Pierce who lives at the University Club is a retired surgeon. I urged Celine to paint a picture of our gardens, the Hudson and the Palisades, as visible from Snug Rock. - This would make a beautiful and interesting painting.

[[/underlined]] At University Club found a letter addressed to me by a former student of Ghent University and who has been employed in China and now is in New York to get a job. His name is Charles Awret. He is a civil engineer and got his degree at Ghent University He acted as "conseiller technique du governement Chinois. His address is 507 Fifth Ave New York.
