Friyday December 35. Rain, rain, rain! George came to take his car, to visit his boy at his school. Very heavy fog: bad day for driving. Celine has spent most of the day visiting Dickie and her child.

Saturday December 6-
Beautiful weather. Celine away most of the day visiting our family and exhibiting some of her paintings among amateur painters 
[[underlined] Sunday December 7. [[/underlined] Japan after long 
dilly-delaying has declared war to U.S. and has bombed the Philippines. Her trick seems to be an ally of Germany against the U.S., thus deviating the U.S. in [[strikethrough]] taking [[/strikethrough]] concentrating our attention away from Europe from situation - Honolulu has also been bombed by the Japanese. - Situation is so important that Roosevelt has called our representatives in Washington tonight for a special session. 
Monday [[underlined] December [[/underlined]] 8. Newspapers and Radio are full of information and exceitment about
