[[underlined]] February 5 - [[/underlined]] I have just finished reading that very interesting book of Herbert Hoover I regret that so few people are acquainted with this imminent book; which might teach them more about that period of our history.

[[underlined]] February 7. [[/underlined]] Went out with Paul to visit the roads that finally led to Key-West. A long but interesting drive over the many waters now provided by an excellent system of bridges, well conceived and guarded by young soldiers armed with their rifle, but very courteous and saluting each when we passed them.
