[[/underlined]] Yesterday received a telegram from Nina, urging that Celine should go to her house so as to be present at the marriage of Ninette with a young man, who is about to join the army for the duration of the war! - When I showed the telegram to Celine, she wired that this was out of the question; to which I agreed fully, and this for many reasons

More and more bad news of the war against the Japs. The U.S. is gradually involved more and more in the wars of Europe and other countries.
President Roosevelt and his entourage is getting more and more brought in ever increasing spilling of men and moneys.
