Fairchild, Fairchild himself, Celine and some other guests [[strikethrough]] whi [[/strikethrough]] were present. The bride had wonderful Bali - made clothes. It so happens that the newly wed [[strikethrough]] ca [[/strikethrough]] ship captain is leaving within 2 days with his wife for Bali, notwithstanding the war. - It is quite a risk for any boat or captain to be in Java or Bali; but they do not seem to mind it.
[[underlined]] March 3. [[/underlined]] Got a very long typewritten letter from Brooksie who gives a detail description of his life and training in Canada, to enter into the air-forces. His letter [[strikethrough]] f [[/strikethrough]] addressed to his father is very interesting and contains some witty remarks

Today a continuous heavy rainfall.
This morning, on reading "The Trefoil" B 
[[image: infinity symbol]], issued by Bakelite. I am astonished to read that we have a great number of workmen and employes in Batavia distributed among men of Bakelite and of our fellows of National Carbon Co at our plant at Batavia. It contains photos of Primitive Threshing of Grain also "Doing the Family Wash on a main street in Java, etc. 
See February 1942. Pages 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 8, 9, 10, 11, etc. besides portraits of our men at Bloomfield ^[[here]] etc a sturdy group, much interested in their work.
