great shortage of gasoline. Today the same news is printed in News papers and gasoline supply houses. The "Miami Herald" of today Tuesday prints in big letters first page: "Gas " Famine Here in 45 days is "feared". - If correct this will be a calamity.
Yesterday Paul [[strikethrough]] ba [[/strikethrough]] made up a large iron tank in which to keep a large supply of gasoline, from which we can replace now and then our gasoline supply of our Motor Car. All this is to limit the use of Motor cars.
This morning went with Celine to register us both for next elections in Miami.

Stayed home most of the day. - Pleasant weather. Celine is preparing for returning North by train. I intend to stay here longer after the rush of passengers is over.
[[underlined]] Tuesday May [[/underlined]] 12. Have sent a copy of my portrait to our Friend Low, who has been so faithfull and intelligent with Bakelite.
The Gasoline problem which has scared everybody since the men in Washington has curtailed the sale or transportation of Gasoline. Today the papers etc. seem to be a little more used to it. - Fortunately Paul has foreseen this and had purchased a steel container which together with a dayly ration obtainable from gasoline dealers may help us out.
