Monday May 25. = Very warm weather ^[[underlined]] [[here]] [[/underlined]]. Celine is now in Yonkers or in the Adirondacks where it is cool in her camp.
While Paul is helping me in getting ready for going to New York and Yonkers.
[[underlined]] Saturday June 6. [[/underlined]] Paul took me along the Palisade Road. Then to New York and back. Americans continue to battle against the Japanese - See Herald Tribune. Saturday June 6 Celine and myself went to stay near Untermeyer gardens where we have a beautiful piece of land and a fine house. Quite nearby Dick our caretaker has his own house where he lives with his old mother.
This was a beautiful day in a most beautiful landscape and so near to the Station

Tuesday [[underlined]] June 9 [[/underlined]] - 1942.
Since yesterday we are back at our home "Snug Rock" overlooking the beautiful Hudson River, and our majestic garden. The papers announcing the rationing of Tea and Coffee but not of clothing. - I feel very tired, so will stay at "Snug Rock" until I feel better 
[[underlined]] June 25. [[/underlined]] Went out early to Columbia University; but when arriving there found nobody there and every one still enjoying his vacation. So returned home to putting me to work.
Afternoon Dick helped me to put my wine cellar in shape. Further more bad news of fighting in Africa.
I am now in my 78th year and still surrounded with many duties, which require my attention
