Saturday [[underlined]] August 8 1942 [[/underlined]] After many bright and sunny days; it started to rain heavily since last evening and continued to porrow down continuously making currents in our garden as well as in the streets.
Celine had written us that she would leave her camp to visit some friends and to return to Snug Rock tomorrow or a day later. This rain may much interfere with her plans. Since several days I have suffered considerably on my entestines and pain on my anus, in the morning. Met Brooksie at our office with his father. He has obtained a few days vacation and arrived from Canada

flying companions. He has much grown. As he has to take the train to our camp we only had a few minutes together for a short talk. He looks like a striking personality. Have had a gray weather all day. Gray Horison indicating bad weather. - At about 2 P.M, a very violent lightning and thunder. Many of my trees at [[strikethrough]] Coconut Grove [[/strikethrough]] "Snug Rock" (Yonkers). The violent rain causes a current [[strikethrough]] thereofer [[/strikethrough]] thereof to dig streams of water to rush down hill over my garden, while rain and thunder continue their work. I wonder whether Celine, who is not here, is getting her meeting with the storm. - Dick and the maids are doing their best to avoid more damage.
