for the Hooker Electrical Co. I took luncheon at the American Chemical [[strikethrough]] Society [[/strikethrough]] ^[[Club]], where I met many friends at dinner. This Club which I helped so much to create, many years ago has steadily and increasingly its importance, way beyond our dearest dreams.

Yesterday at noon I had the pleasure of the visit of [[underlined]] Dr. K. E. Ripper, [[/underlined]] of 90 - Edgemont Road. - Scarsdale N.Y (4028). He seems to remember that I introduced him to the Company, of which he is now one of the most important Chemists. He is a cheerful and well informed man.
That endless war in so many countrys is still going on unobstructedly and does not seem to stop. - On the contrary, it seems to spread out further.

Since I saw yesterday in the Bakelite office, while George is in the Adirondacks, he name as printed in the office with no more importance than that of Rossi and many more whose importance as classed does not go beyond that of George. - My name does not even appear.
