NCNW TO HOLD A POLITICAL FORUM
[[underlined]]The National Council of Negro Women will sponsor a "Meet Your Candidate" forum, Sunday, Oct. 28[[underlined]] at 4:30 p.m., 1914 Fillmore St.

The theme of the forum is "A Good Citizen Is An Informed Citizen." The Council has invited all the local candidates seeking election, along with representatives from both of the political parties to discuss their particular views. [[underlined]]Mrs. Willa Evans is chairman of[[underlined]] the meeting and [[underlined]]Mrs. S. Anna Magruder, co-chairman.[[underlined]]

Council Women Move Into Final Week of Voters Education

The Citizenship Education project sponsored by the local chapter of the National Council of Negro Women and the National Urban League hosted a meeting at the headquarters, 1914 Fillmore Street, last Sunday, October 28, which was attended [[underlined]]by many of the candidates for election on November 6.[[underlined]]

Among those attending were Assemblyman and [[underlined]]Mrs. Casper Weinberger, Judge Raymond Arata, Bill Nelson for Committee Opposing Proposition 4, Assemblyman Thomas Maloney,[[underlined]] Assemblyman [[underlined]]Edward M. Gaffney, Irving Shore,[[underlined]] candidate for the assembly, and [[underlined]]Mrs. Shore, Clay Sanders representing Senator Thomas Kuchel, John A Busterud,[[underlined]] candidate for [[underlined]]the assembly[[underlined]] and [[underlined]]Mrs. Busterud.
 
During the final week before election the women have planned several other events for voters and candidates. All events are of non-partisan nature.

A motorcade through the Western Addition will highlight the final activities of the project on Saturday, November 3.

[[underlined]]The Junior Council members have included in their final program in connection with the election.[[underlined]] providing baby-sitting service for persons who wish to leave their children while they go to the polls on Election Day. The service will be given at the Fillmore Street headquarters.

Twenty-five or more volunteers organized a "House to House" Canvas on Monday evening, November 5th, urging persons to go to the polls and cast their votes the following day.

Junior Council organized a "Telephone Unit" at Project Headquarters urging many citizens to not neglect casting their votes. They also secured "play pens", baby chairs, and toidys, setting up a complete "Babysitter Unit".
