Genesis Apotheosis Exodus
The beginning in old Africa of the BLACK RACE -- carrying the burdens that are part of a nomadic life, camp equipage, indicating changing abode -- primitive huts in background.
The Apotheosis shows what has been done thru constant application and sacrifice. Three heroic figures of beautiful Negro womanhood personify Liberty, Music and Art. The presence of the Lyre on the side of Fine Arts and of Books on the side of Liberal Arts shows that in Literature and Music, the Race has made its most wonderful progress.
Coming Out from a bondage of ignorance and hopelessness to a place in the sun of modern civilization -- still bearing burdens, but burden earned and worked for -- as a part of the big modern life about them.
