Feb 16, 1932. Hazeltine in evening & he is all interested in new things - the bitterness over loosing out in the the game commission having been somewhat relieved. 
Saw R. G. Johnson who repeated part of story about King & Johnnie Laurence. Gave Laurence a good name & stated he stood well in the community 
[[underlined]] Feb 17, 1932. [[/underlined]] Further conference with Johnson & Ray on work for next season here. Also saw Hazeltine again & met Ed Hicks the D-atty here who wished to ask me some questions about rabbits squirrels etc - Thence to John Day for a visit with Carl Eweing & John Scharff who went in strong for rodent wrks last year. They felt could do the same this year. Furnish all needed camp equipment and about $500 [[underline]] 00 [[/underline]] Met Johnnie [[strikethrough]] Thence by car to Onterio arrive [[/strikethrough]] Laurence. Who said he wished snow would go off lower foot hills and let him at his stations. Said in last few years had found no dead badgers or skunks to speak of tho on trap line using baits he used to catch many of them as well as eagles & owls. Kills many Eagles - said Jewett had told him not to report them in his itineraries.
Told of seeing an Eagle strike a swan in mid air and knock him end over end. Said he went over the ridge & found the eagle feeding on the still warm carcass of the swan. He took the body over to the Brad Herbergger ranch. Said swan was bleeding between the wings on the back.
Think he kills too many eagles & talks too much about it.
